Phased development with 2 or more versions post launch. Job requires cutting edge technology, fresh design, logo creation, full on-site SEO strategy, multilingual versions, rich user interfaces, ad server, importing 75k records, a comprehensive database management system, web hosting selection and installation, ongoing maintenance & changes.

User authentication, multi-level admin permissions, online service sign-up & secure payment processing, invoice generation, rapid page loading, user content publishing, advanced search and filter tools, account activity alerts, Flash content, maps, emailing management and opt-in, events calendar, online ordering, grouped inquiry mails, automated price calculations, mini websites, social networking, tell a friend, live chat, co-browse & call me widgets, 5 language versions.

Process
Only applicants with demonstrable experience building large portal sites with the required functionalities will be considered. Website design, database management system expertise, UI flair and SEO capabilities are all vital. It is imperative that prospective suppliers show examples of relevant previous work. The fixed rate price quoted must be all-inclusive of all discussions, exchanges, proposal reviews and design services necessary to complete the entire project. Extra (e.g. monthly hosting and maintenance) fees should be detailed in full. We are seeking a highly experienced development firm with an established track record, capable of supporting a long term partnership with us. Applicants capable of adding value to the design process, thus helping us achieve our business goals, will receive special consideration. Short-listed candidates will receive a 10-page job brief. Timing: definition of final beta version feature set and specs end Sept 2009, beta launch January 1, 2010, user testing, feedback collection and changes followed by full launch March 2010.
